A Tribute to Gamera vs Guiron is a special production that initially streamed on the Gizmoplex on July 8, 2022. It is preceded by the short Sleep for Health. The main feature is a presentation of Episode #312. At the point of the original episode's commercial breaks, there is either a Gizmoplex sponsor Madvertisement or an intermission/new host segment. The special is followed by a screening of So Happy Together: A Look Back at MST3K and Gamera. Originally, a Jackbox event (similar to Let's Make More MST3K & Build THE GIZMOPLEX!'s The Jackbox Showdown) was scheduled to follow this event, but it got postponed.
The Special[]
Host Segments[]
Segment One: Jonah is using the phone app Kaiju Lingo to learn Japanese. Crow has nothing but contempt for this attempt at self-improvement. However, Jonah believes he might pick out nuances in the film that get lost in the translation. But the kaiju specific nature of the app doesn't cover more conventional phrases, like asking directions to the nearest pachinko parlor.
Segment Two: Tom and Crow wonder if there's another Satellite of Love orbiting Terra crewed by evil versions of themselves, but Jonah is skeptical. They put on fake goatees and act out what this theoretical anti-Satellite of Love crew would be like. Turns out they're very considerate towards each other. This has them ponder on how maybe they're the evil twins.
Segment Three: Emily and the Bots plan on what to put in their emergency bags in case of a kaiju attack. Crow recommends a Buster Brown hat and a big lollipop, as kaiju are often friendly towards children. Tom wants a propeller hat and a Pokémon backpack for his child disguise, while Crow adds a slingshot. Emily is concerned there won't be enough room for essentials like bottled water and flashlights. Crow starts adding in juvenile delinquent paraphernalia. Also, instead of planning an evacuation route, composing a kaiju anthem is considered more important.
Segment Four: Tom and Crow were amazed by Gamera's high bar routine. They recommend that Jonah do a similar workout to get himself in better shape. Pearl suggests that he's fine with his current inactive movie watching lifestyle. Dr. Kabahl appears and states that kaiju-like fitness is attainable but requires dedication.
Madvertisements[]
Sponsors are chosen by M. Waverly, who spins a wheel to choose the sponsor.
Sponsor 1: Onyx Path Publishing: Jonah and Crow list some of the aquatic monsters in They Came From Beneath The Sea. Tom appears to be getting into it with what appears to be a razor-wielding octopus costume. However, he insists that it's his typical nighttime outfit and that any resemblance to the RPG is just coincidental.
Sponsor 2: Bearmanor Media: Tom Servo and Crow are too preoccupied with organizing Crow's laserdisc collection. This leaves Jonah to recite the ad material given by BearManor Media leadenly.
Sponsor 3: Bendy (from Joey Drew Studios): The plush Bendy has arrived from Joey Drew Studios, along with a Bendy drawstring bag. It disturbs Jonah, and Tom and Crow dispute on how to distribute their licensed goods.
