MST3K

A Tribute to I Accuse My Parents is a special production that initially streamed on the Gizmoplex on February 10, 2023. It was preceded by the short Doing Things for Ourselves in School. The main feature is a presentation of Episode 507, with a Riff-Along by Emily Marsh, Kelsey Ann Brady, Tim Ryder, and Yvonne Freese. At the points of the original episode's commercial breaks, there is either a Gizmoplex sponsor Madvertisement or an intermission/new host segment. The special is followed by a Q&A moderated by Matt McGinnis. An alternate version without the Riff-Along and Q&A portions was made available a few days later.

Host Segments[]

Segment One: Tom thinks they shouldn't be too hard on Jimmy, as it can be easy to fall off the straight and narrow path. Crow recounts how he fell in with a bad crowd and wound up popping zip guns with the worst of them. This confuses Emily, until Crow explains that it was a swing revival gang during the late 1990s until he went into a ska phase.

Segment Two: As part of Doomed Lovers Month, Jonah attempts to make a dating video, but it comes off as pathetic. Crow shows how it's done by delivering a spiel in which he presents Jonah as an inarticulate dullard, as he believes love should be primal. Tom thinks smooth and sensual is the way to go and emphasizes the importance of a mustache. Jonah and Crow are unsettled by his performance and leave.

Segment Three: Emily has Tom and Crow do more art therapy. Crow's is a photorealistic portrait of himself standing atop a pile of defeated foes. These foes are all himself, which he absorbed to become ur-Crow. Emily diagnoses this as a combination of delusions of grandeur and insecurity. Tom's family includes Gigantor, Gort, the Iron Giant, Mechagodzilla, Haley Mills, and Larisa Oleynik. Emily makes note of all the giant robot father figures and concludes from the inclusion of Larisa Oleynik that he has Alex Mack Syndrome. Emily's is a copy of the cover of the KISS album "Dynasty". Tom thinks this qualifies her being for fitted for a straitjacket.

Segment Four: For Doomed Lovers Month, Jonah, Emily, and the Bots do a fantasy draft of their favorite fictional couples. Tom's is Niles Crane and Daphne Moon. Emily goes with Batman and Catwoman. Jonah selects Nick and Nora Charles. GPC chooses a bro pairing with Bill S. Preston, Esq. and Ted Logan. Crow picks Tom and Jerry, with Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner as a backup. Jonah points out that both of those are eternal enemies. Crow doesn't follow what he's getting at.

Segment Five: Crow is uncertain if accusing your parents would really hold up in a court of law. Tom proposes that they make a pact to accuse each other. Emily concludes that it's a great idea. Pearl advocates not relying on accomplices, and prefers to pin everything on some hapless patsy (like Synthia).

Madvertisements[]

Sponsors are chosen by M. Waverly, who spins a wheel to choose the sponsor.

Sponsor 1: Onyx Path Publishing: Tom's character handles a nasty monster encounter by providing talk therapy. This is followed by Jonah reading the names of some Kickstarter backers.

Sponsor 2: Bendy (from Joey Drew Studios): Tom and Crow have purchased a large amount of Bendy merchandise using Max's credit card. Jonah is not pleased. This is followed by Tom reading the names of some Kickstarter backers.

Sponsor 3: Bearmanor Media: Tom Servo wishes to have his memoirs transcribed by Jonah and submitted to BearManor. This is followed by Crow reading the names of some Kickstarter backers.
