A Tribute to The Christmas That Almost Wasn't is a special production that initially streamed on the Gizmoplex on December 15, 2022. The main feature is a presentation of Episode 1113. At the point of the original episode's commercial breaks, there is either a Gizmoplex sponsor Madvertisement or an intermission/new host segment.

The Special[]

Host Segments[]

Segment One: Jonah tries to explain the concept of mall Santas to Crow and Tom. Crow thinks they're suppose to be doubles to foil kidnapping attempts. Both are more fascinated by the concept of malls. Jonah concludes with a lame pun, causing the Bots to stalk out in disgust.

Segment Two: Emily considers a movie where Santa Claus faces legal trouble to be a bold move. Tom and Crow agree that this helps make him more relatable. Emily then wonders if he has to deal with other human issues, like getting a colonoscopy. They further speculate that Santa must be licensing his image (in particular his deal with Coca-Cola) to cover the loss of giving away all those toys. Crow concludes that Santa also has his own cryptocurrency. This makes him sound less appealing.

Letter Reading: Crow reads one from Cameron McLendon, a teacher who screens MST3K to his students on free days. Crow admonishes him over his slackness on taking role call.

Segment Three: Joel arrives on the Simulator of Love just as Emily is about to read a bedtime story to the Bots. Joel is impressed by the wholesomeness of it all. Emily then proceeds to recite a modified version of "The Night Before Christmas". Once the Bots fall asleep, Emily and Joel sneak off for an eggnog.

Segment Four: Emily thanks everyone for watching and reminds viewers about the next evening's screening of The Christmas Dragon. She then goes to confiscate Crow's throwing stars. Meanwhile Pearl is increasingly aggravated by Synthia's festive spirit.

Madvertisements[]

Sponsors are chosen by M. Waverly, who spins a wheel to choose the sponsor.

Sponsor 1: Bendy (from Joey Drew Studios): Tom and Crow have purchased a large amount of Bendy merchandise using Max's credit card. Jonah is not pleased. This is followed with Emily reading off the names of Kickstarter backers.

Sponsor 2: Onyx Path Publishing: Tom's character handles a nasty monster encounter by providing talk therapy. This is followed with Tom reading off the names of Kickstarter backers.

Sponsor 3: Bearmanor Media: Tom Servo wishes to have his memoirs transcribed by Jonah and submitted to BearManor. This is followed with Crow reading off the names of Kickstarter backers.
