MST3K

A Tribute to The Pumaman is a special production that initially streamed on the Gizmoplex on August 5, 2022. It is preceded by the short The Wonder of Reproduction. The main feature is a presentation of Episode 903. At the point of the original episode's commercial breaks, there is either a Gizmoplex sponsor Madvertisement or an intermission/new host segment. The special is followed by the Ballyhoo Motion Pictures doumentary Walter George Alton on Pumaman and a preview of Episode #1308.

The Special[]

Host Segments[]

Segment One: Crow wonders what the deal is with ancient cultures and their obsessions with creepy masks.

Segment Two: Tom and Crow have been attempting to gain superpowers though traditional means, but to no avail. Cosmic radiation, being bitten by a radioactive spider (with GPC subbing as one), cobbling together a power armor suit out of scrap in a cave, brewing up a supersoldier serum, none of it works. Jonah suggests that maybe their superpowers of friendship were within them the whole time. Crow thinks that's lame and suggests taking one of the tools from the workshop to see if one of them becomes a Norse god.

Segment Three: Crow believes that the movie offers solid proof that aliens have influenced human civilization since ancient times. While Emily and Tom are skeptical, Crow gives examples of the sophisticated design only aliens could have managed, like the Rock N Roll McDonald's, the Mars Cheese Castle, and the Luxor Las Vegas.

Segment Four: Emily is annoyed that she's pronouncing Pumaman just like Donald Pleasence. Crow insists that aliens built the Hard Rock Cafe in Seattle. While Pearl is disgusted by this conspiracy theory thinking, Synthia expounds on how the entire Hard Rock Cafe franchise is controlled by aliens.

Madvertisements[]

Sponsors are chosen by M. Waverly, who spins a wheel to choose the sponsor.

Sponsor 1: Bendy (from Joey Drew Studios): The ad copy Jonah reads proclaims Bendy to be innocent and nostalgic. Tom and Crow swiftly disabuse him of this belief, using exceedingly improper innuendo.

Sponsor 2: Bearmanor Media: Jonah is a fan of BearManor Media biographies, which include celebrities such as Marjoe Gortner and Lee Van Cleef. Tom Servo believes BearManor should publish his biography and goes full-on Roy Batty.

Sponsor 3: Onyx Path Publishing: Crow wants to play as a half-merman/half-centaur in They Came From Beneath The Sea. Jonah believes it is too complex and advises using a human character instead. Crow responds by presenting a figure who combines the top half of a merman and a centaur.
