Alex Gordon (1922-2003) was a British-born producer and writer. In 1947, he and his brother Richard Gordon emigrated to America to work in the film industry there. While Richard stayed in New York, Alex continued to Hollywood. His first produced screenplay was the Ed Wood-directed Jail Bait. Through the 1950s and 1960s, he mostly worked in B films, with American International Pictures as his primary employer. He followed up his production career with instituting a film restoration project at 20th Century-Fox, recovering several films once thought lost. In 1976, he became vice-president of the Gene Autrey Organization.
