Criswell (1907-1982) was an American television personality. Claiming to be able to predict the future, Criswell appeared on a number of TV programs and published a book of predictions.
He befriended filmmaker Edward D. Wood Jr. and appeared in some of the films that Wood wrote or directed. He usually appeared as himself (including in Wood's Night of the Ghouls), though he played The Emperor in Orgy of the Dead.
In the 1994 feature film Ed Wood, Criswell was played by Jeffrey Jones.
