- This movie was adapted from the novel The Hand of Mary Constable by Paul Gallico.
- This is the only made-for-TV movie in which Gene Tierney ever appeared.
- Pamelyn Ferdin provided the voice of Lucy in several animated TV specials based on the comic strip Peanuts. She also voiced the character in the feature film A Boy Named Charlie Brown. Additionally, she voiced Fern in the animated film adaptation of Charlotte's Web and later co-starred on the TV series Blondie, Lassie, and The Paul Lynde Show.
