- Dick Contino was the subject of a brief essay in The Amazing Colossal Episode Guide describing a letter that BBI received claiming to be from a relative of the deceased actor. The letter apparently claimed that the show had been disrespectful to Dick Contino's memory. In fact, Dick Contino did not pass away until April 19th, 2017 (21 years after the ACEG was published, and almost 26 years after the original broadcast of Experiment #307).
- Dick Contino was also a character in 2 works of short fiction by the popular crime writer James Ellroy. One of these works (entitled Dick Contino's Blues) was set during the filming of Daddy-O.
