Edgar Rice Burroughs (1875-1950) was an American author known for his works in the science fiction, fantasy, and adventure genres. He was the creator of the characters Tarzan and John Carter (Warlord of Mars).
Burroughs wrote many works of serialized short fiction, as well as novels that became popular series as well.
The Southern California neighborhood in which Burroughs lived has since been renamed "Tarzana" in honor of his famous creation.
