Gary Leonard Oldman (born March 21, 1958) is an English actor, filmmaker and musician.
Oldman first came to prominence in the role of Sid Vicious in Alex Cox's film Sid and Nancy, and as Rosencrantz in the 1990 film adaptation of Tom Stoppard's play Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead (inspired by Hamlet). More high profile work followed, including Francis Ford Coppola's 1992 film Bram Stoker's Dracula and Luc Besson's The Fifth Element in 1997.
Oldman has also appeared in popular film franchises, including the Harry Potter film series, as well as Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy as Commissioner Gordon.
