Clayboys, Schmayboys. Who cares anyhow?
- Pokey

Gumby 1 (often referred to as Gumby: The Movie) is a 1995 animated fantasy/action film starring Gumby.

Plot[]

Gumby and Pokey return home and Gumby travels into several books to gather ideas for an upcoming performance by his band, the Clayboys, which makes Pokey jealous and depressed. Meanwhile, the Blockheads, through their E-Z Loan Company, have been sending threatening letters to debtors threatening to take over their farms. Gumby decides to hold a benefit concert for the farmers, where the Blockheads notice that Gumby's dog, Lowbelly, gries tears made of real pearls while watching the Clayboys perform.

Gumby and his friends go to the local diner, where Gumby meets Lucky Claybert, a music manager who offers to take on the Clayboys, including producing a music video for them.

The Blockheads use the flurry of activity around the video shoot to kidnap Lowbelly, replacing him with a robot replica, but they are unable to get him to cry pearl tears. They then kidnap Gumby and the other members of the band and clone them as well, to better recreate the concert experience. But Gumby escapes with the help of a fan, Tara.

Gumby eventually faces off against the robot Gumby across several books, until Gumby finally defeats him while the rest of the gang rescue the Clayboys and defeat the Blockheads. Gumby announces at a picnic that he is using the pearls Lowbelly has produced to offer low-interest loans to the farmers before leaving again, his work done, for now.
