Hal Needham (1931-2013) was an American filmmaker. During his career, he worked as an actor, stunt performer, driver, and director.
Hal Needham frequently worked with Burt Reynolds. He directed Reynolds in the popular film Smokey and the Bandit (and its sequel) and The Cannonball Run films (co-starring Dom Deluise). Needham also directed Reynolds and Loni Anderson in the film Stroker Ace (which co-stars Parker Stevenson and features a cameo by Elvira, Mistress of the Dark).

- Hal Needham was the stunt double for Gary Lockwood in the second pilot episode of Star Trek.
- In Episode #704, Dr. Forrester attributes the quote "Give me a Firebird and a dilapidated building and I'll give you drama" to Hal Needham, but this does not seem to be a genuine quote.
