Johnny at the Fair is a short film produced on behalf of the National Film Board of Canada.

Plot

Johnny and his family have gone to the Canadian National Exhibition. When Johnny gets bored, he strikes out on his own and gets into many adventures and meets various celebrities.

• The original version of Johnny at the Fair was produced by the National Film Board of Canada and carried credits to that effect. The version used on Mystery Science Theater 3000 was produced by Sterling Films and has some changes.
  • This version is notably shorter, at around eight minutes
  • The narration from Lorne Greene has been replaced by another narrator
• In 2003, Charles Pachter appeared in a follow-up film, Charlie at the Fair, where he reminisced about the making of the original short, spoke to some of the filmmakers and looked at the film's impact.
