Kit West (1936-2016) was special effects technician who got his start working on training films for the British military. Some of the more notable movies in his filmography include Quatermass and the Pit, The Wild Geese, The Pink Panther Strikes Again, Raiders of the Lost Ark (for which he won an Oscar), Dune, and Return of the Jedi.
