Legend Films is a DVD distribution company, currently an imprint of Legend3D.

Legend hired Michael J. Nelson to provide comedic commentary tracks and other forms of content for various DVDs of old movies. These included well-known films such as Plan 9 from Outer Space and The Little Shop of Horrors, as well as lesser known B-movies.

Eventually, Nelson and Legend formed RiffTrax, a place where Mike could create commentaries for films that would be impossible to license. As time went on and RiffTrax grew, Bill Corbett and Kevin Murphy joined Mike, reforming the riffing team from Seasons 8 through 10 of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and the short-lived project The Film Crew.

As Legend's focus shifted from colorization and DVD releases to 3D film conversion, the company changed their name to Legend3D, although Legend Films survives as an imprint.

At around the same time, Legend sold its stake in RiffTrax to Mike, Bill and Kevin, ending their association, although they still distribute DVDs originally produced during their ownership.
