Let's Make MST3K Season 14!

Let's Make MST3K Season 14! was a crowdfunding campaign announced by Joel Hodgson on October 24, 2023^[1]. It ended without meeting its goal.

Goals[]

The primary goal of the campaign was to fund a fourteenth national season of Mystery Science Theater 3000.

The initial campaign goals were as follows:

$4.8M - the campaign succeeds and finances six new episodes, six shorts and eighteen "Surgically Enhanced" episodes
$6.1M - increases the episode and short count to nine, with twenty-seven "Surgically Enhanced" episodes
$7.4M - increases the episode and short count to twelve, with thirty-six "Surgically Enhanced" episodes

Late in the campaign, Joel Hodgson announced that the first goal level had been lowered to $4M to give the project a better chance at success.^[2]

The campaign ultimately failed, ending on November 26 with $2,712,309 having been pledged.

Few details about the potential Season 14 were announced by the campaign:

All Season 13 cast and crew were said to be welcome to return.
While pre-production was planned to begin immediately once the campaign reached its first goal, filming would not commence until the conclusion of the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike.
Updates from Joel Hodgson revealed some of the movies that were planned to be used in Season 14. These included Battle Beyond the Stars, Deathsport, Plan 9 from Outer Space, Ballistica, Abraxas: Guardian of the Universe, and Battletruck. Joel implied that this is the order in which he planned for the episodes to be produced/released.
Joel stated his intention to make the new season using physical sets, rather than primarily using greenscreen sets.
