MST3K
Wikipedia article:

The Blu-ray optical disc format is a media format designed as the successor to DVD. It was developed around the same time as the competing HD-DVD format, ultimately becoming the dominant high definition home video format. Although it has become the default format for most home video releases, sales never eclipsed those of DVD and, with the proliferation of streaming services, both formats have seen a significant drop off in sales.

The following is a series of lists detailing all commercial Blu-ray releases of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and related spin-off productions.

MST3K[]

The first Blu-ray releases of MST3K were from Shout! Factory in the form of extra features on films used by the show. The first (and, for quite a while, only) straightforward MST3K Blu-ray released was Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie.

With the revival of the show, Shout! has begun releasing the new episodes in complete season sets.

Beginning in 2019, MST3K episodes began appearing as bonus features on DVDs and Blu-rays from other companies, starting with The Film Detective's release of Eegah. Additional films from The Film Detective and Film Masters have followed.

Mike Nelson commentaries[]

In 2004, Michael J. Nelson began working with Legend Films, releasing various public domain films newly colorized and featuring a "MST3K-like" commentary by Mike. Two Blu-ray versions of these were released in 2012.

RiffTrax[]

In 2005, Mike Nelson and Legend launched RiffTrax, an online service where Mike (and, eventually guests) would riff various films, releasing only an .mp3 of the riff, thereby circumventing the need to license the films or limit themselves to public domain features. Blu-ray releases of certain live theatrical broadcasts were launched in 2011. Beginning in 2015, various third party manufacturers have released Blu-rays with either a RiffTrax audio track or VOD as a bonus feature.

Sampo[]

The 2022 Blu-ray of the film Sampo (which was re-edited into The Day the Earth Froze) features an hour-long interview with Michael J. Nelson in which he talks about his career and the use of The Day the Earth Froze and The Sword and the Dragon (edited from Ilya Muromets) on Mystery Science Theater 3000.
