- Bagdad Cafe is a 1987 film about a German tourist who forms a new life at a secluded American truck stop restaurant.

- Toonces the Driving Cat is a recurring sketch on the late-night sketch comedy TV show Saturday Night Live. Unsuspecting passengers are driven by Toonces who (accidentally or otherwise) drives off a cliff.
