MST3K: The Home Game is a special that aired on the Sci-Fi Channel in two iterations on January 25, 1997. The film Day the World Ended was shown while viewers submitted riffs via the internet that ran underneath the film as it played. The showings also included behind-the-scenes footage as Best Brains, Inc. prepped for the beginning of Season 8.
It is not considered an official episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000.

Survivors of a recent apocalyptic event struggle to survive. They face peril in the form of dangerous mutants, radiation poisoning, and romantic entanglements.
The Special[]

Intro: Michael J. Nelson introduces the special and explains how viewers can participate in the broadcast. He also mentions that he and Kevin Murphy will be giving a tour of Best Brains, Inc. throughout the special.
Segment One: Kevin and Mike welcome the viewer to Best Brains, Inc. Paul Chaplin (on the Deep Ape set), Mike (in the workshop), Kevin (on the set for the Bridge, Bill Corbett (in a make-up chair becoming Brain Guy), Mary Jo Pehl (in The Widowmaker) and Jim Mallon explain the premise of the show, including Kevin and Mike showing off the model for The Satellite of Love.
Segment Two: Kevin and Mike show off the studio, including a closer look at the Bridge set.
Segment Three: The cast give character descriptions of Mike Nelson and Pearl Forrester.
Segment Four: Kevin and Mike show the Best Brains workshop, including the Crow T. Robot station. The cast talk about Crow, with Bill, taking over the role from Trace Beaulieu, stating that he felt "humbled" to play the role.
Segment Five: Kevin and Mike show off the Tom Servo, Gypsy and the Blue Alien from Episode 804. The cast talk about the two Bots.
Segment Six: Kevin and Mike show more behind-the-scenes secrets, including the MST3K moon prop and the writing room. They describe the writing process. They then show off the prop room.
Segment Seven: The cast talk about moving the show to The Sci-Fi Channel.
Segment Eight: The cast talk about the potential future of Mystery Science Theater 3000.
