Munchie is a 1992 family comedy film directed by Jim Wynorski.
Plot[]
An adolescent boy named Gage has moved to a new town with his mother, following his parents' divorce. He is having problems at school, where he is mistreated by bullies and the strict principal.
When Gage explores an abandoned mine near his home, he discovers a mysterious locked chest with a voice coming from inside it. Gage opens the chest and frees Munchie, a wide-cracking, mischievous supernatural creature.
Munchie is grateful to Gage, and decides to help him. Munchie quickly defeats or humiliates all of Gage's tormentors, including his mother's new boyfriend (a scientific researcher who wants to dissect Munchie). With Gage's problems solved, Munchie sets off on his own for new adventures.
