Harris is one of the various interviewees featured in the 1992 Comedy Central special This Is MST3K, which was hosted by Penn Jillette. In 2007, Harris was one of the first celebrity guests to co-riff with Michael J. Nelson's newly founded RiffTrax on the movie Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. In 2013, Harris helped promote the RiffTrax Live presentation of 1997 film Starship Troopers (in which he appeared) on social media. During the show, Harris had only four riffs aimed at him, all of which were rather complimentary.

In 2015, Joel Hodgson announced during the Bring Back MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 Kickstarter campaign that Harris was one of several celebrities to confirm a willingness to make cameo appearances on the revived show. He subsequently appeared in Experiment #1104 as magician Neville Laroy.
