Paul Gilbert (1918-1976), born Ed McMahon, was an American actor. He had a relatively short career in films and television, but was a successful nightclub performer.

Paul Gilbert starred in the short-lived TV series The Duke in 1954 (opposite Phyllis Coates), and he appeared in the film The Second Greatest Sex (also starring Mamie Van Doren).

Mr. Gilbert had also been an acrobat, and he demonstrated this skill during the famous "Hi-keeba!" scene in Experiment #104.

Gilbert was also the adoptive father of Melissa Gilbert, best known for playing Laura Ingalls on Little House On The Prairie.
