A railing kill refers to the death of a character by falling or being pushed over a railing.

The phrase railing kill was first coined in Space Mutiny, where Mike Nelson, Crow T. Robot, and Tom Servo noted the large number of railing kills in the film.

Servo would later remark in the opening moments of Hamlet that the movie would have lots of railing kills.
