Robert Bloch (April 5, 1917September 23, 1994) was an American writer.

Bloch's most famous work is the novel Psycho, which was adapted into a successful film directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Bloch later wrote a sequel to Psycho, which is disconnected from the film sequels.

  • Robert Bloch wrote three episodes of the original Star Trek TV series ("What Are Little Girls Made Of?", "Catspaw", and "Wolf in the Fold"), all of which feature some degree of elements from the horror genre.
  • Robert Bloch wrote one episode of the TV series Gemini Man, two other episodes of which were re-edited into the feature Riding with Death.
