Robert Reed (1932-1992), born John Robert Rietz Jr., was an American actor who is best remembered for portraying Mike Brady on The Brady Bunch (1969 - 1974) and its spin-offs The Brady Bunch Hour (1976 – 77), The Brady Girls Get Married (1981), The Brady Brides (1981), A Very Brady Christmas (1988) and The Bradys (1990). He also portrayed Mike on episodes of The Love Boat and Day by Day. He infamously hated the role of Mike Brady, and only did it due to contractual obligations.
Robert Reed had an extensive acting career, primarily in television. As well as his portrayals of Dr. William Reynolds in Roots, Adam Tobias on Mannix!, and Kenneth Preston on The Defenders, he made appearances on Dr. Kildare, Hawaii Five-0, Fantasy Island, Charlie's Angels, and Murder, She Wrote.
