Satellite Dishes is a compilation of host segments from episodes that Shout! Factory believes may never be able to be released in their entirety. It was released as Disc 4 of the box set Mystery Science Theater 3000: Volume XXXIX.
A statement from Shout! issued as part of the announcement of Volume XXXIX reads as follows:
| “ | Despite our best efforts to include the remaining unreleased episodes, due to licensing issues, it is very likely that Volume 39 will be the last collection of never-before-released episodes, and that these remaining episodes may never get a legitimate release. With this in mind, we decided the next best option was to release the remaining host segments by themselves. | ” |

- A similarly-themed disc, MST3K: The (Nearly) Definitive KTMA Segment Collection, had been planned for release as a bonus disc with the purchase of Volume XXXVIII, but was cancelled and replaced by a re-release of the "Triple Decker" collection of Play MSTie for Me.
- Episode #913, Quest of the Delta Knights, did eventually get a digital-only release in 2020.
