- Originally broadcast on ABC-TV on Wednesday, January 16, 1974.
- Producer/Director Dan Curtis had previously created the supernatural serialized drama Dark Shadows. He worked on the first two TV movies featuring the character Carl Kolchak (who was portrayed by Darren McGavin), and he would later direct the highly-regarded made-for-TV movie Trilogy of Terror (starring Karen Black).
