Shelley Winters (1920 - 2006) was an American actress.
During her long and acclaimed career, Winters was nominated for Academy Awards four times, winning twice. She also won a Golden Globe and a Primetime Emmy. She wrote two well-known autobiographies: Shelley: Also Known as Shirley and Shelley II: The Middle of My Century. She was married four times, including to Tony Franciosa (and not her City on Fire co-star James Franciscus).
By the 1960s, she began working more regularly in television, including appearances on the Batman television series and various TV movies, as well as in exploitation films such as Bloody Mama.
