"Sodium" is a song sung by Tom Servo, Mike Nelson and Crow T. Robot at the conclusion of Experiment #817. It is based on a plot point of the experiment's film, The Horror of Party Beach.
Set-up[]
[On the Satellite of Love]
Mike Nelson: Hey, everyone! You know, Tom, Crow, and I were talking about how the kids today don't know squat about sodium.
Crow T. Robot: Yeah. I couldn't have put it better myself, Mike. Why, the shocking lack of sodium taught at schools today is shocking.
Tom Servo: That's right, Crow. So we asked ourselves: How, how, do we reach kids today about sodium.
Crow T. Robot: How? How? How?
Mike Nelson: Through the Rock N' Roll Music that the kids seem to like.
[50s-era doo-wop style music begins]
Crow T. Robot: Hit it!
Lyrics[]
TOM
Sodium! Sodium! Sodium! Sodium! (MIKE & CROW: Sodium! Sodium! Sodium! Sodium! Sodium! Sodium!)
Mike Nelson: Yeah! Sodium! It's sodium. Yeah!
TOM & CROW
Sodium! Sodium! Sodium! Sodium!
Mike Nelson: It's Sodium, baby! Sodium! Sodium! Sodium! Sodium!
[music stops]
Crow T. Robot: Sodium.
Tom Servo: Well, if you don't know anything about sodium now, I don't know what else we can do for ya.
Crow T. Robot: Yeah, you kids with your big bands and your colored chalk and your Neve Campell...
Mike Nelson: Sodium. Wont' you?
Crow T. Robot: ...and your fanny packs and your nerf balls...
Tom Servo: Well, we better see what's going on with Pearl and them.
Crow T. Robot: ...and your listenin' to the No Doubts, and your Pong, and your Volkswagen Golf leases and your notebooks and the kids with the pierced I don't know what, the roller skates and the twenty-three skidoos and the listening to the Becks...
