Sonny Bono (1935-1998) was an American musician, songwriter, actor, and politician.
Sonny Bono and his wife gained fame as the music duo Sonny & Cher. They had several hit songs, and a popular musical-variety TV series (which continued after their marriage ended). He appeared on several popular TV series (including Fantasy Island) and in some films.
After leaving show business, Bono entered politics. He was the mayor of Palm Springs, California, and was later elected to the U.S. House of Representatives for his district.
Sonny Bono died in 1998 from injuries he suffered during a skiing accident.

- Sonny Bono guest-starred in a 1975 episode of the TV adventure series The Six Million Dollar Man (starring Lee Majors). A promotional spot for this episode was shown during the Movie Jo Night presentation of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century.
- In the 1999 made-for-TV drama And the Beat Goes On: The Sonny and Cher Story, Sonny Bono was played by Jay Underwood.
