Has anyone found out why the matt guy was even in that scene?

I think that he might have been a Kickstarter donor who won a certain reward. The episode description at MST3K.com indicates that there may have been some additional scene that got cut where Kinga tried out a different host, but it's obviously not present in the season. Hopefully, there will some clarification in the not-too-distant future.
