- Josh Weinstein, Joel Hodgson and Trace Beaulieu had all worked on the Paul Feig-created Freaks and Geeks and Feig appears in Joel's second pilot for The TV Wheel. The three MST3K alumni, then working together as part of Cinematic Titanic, were invited by Feig to record a commentary track/riff of The Heat.
- Hodgson and Beaulieu would later appear together on Feig's sci-fi comedy show Other Space.
