The Starfighters is a 1964 military procedural drama written and directed by Will Zens.

Plot[]

Pilots in the United States Air Force train to fly state-of-the-art jet fighters. Mid-air refueling is prominently featured.

Lt. John Witkowski is bothered by his Congressman father offering to use his political influence to get John transferred to a different assignment. Witkowski is also introduced to a woman who lives near the training base and a courtship ensues.

Notes[]

  • The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter jet featured in the film had a notoriously poor safety record, mostly due to design issues that made it much more difficult to fly than other planes.
