Voyage to the Planet of Prehistoric Women is a 1968 science-fiction film adapted from the 1962 Soviet film Planeta Bur ("Planet of Storms").

To gain broader release, producer Roger Corman acceded to the distributor's demand to include titillating elements. Corman hired Peter Bogdanovich to direct a loosely-connected series of shots of Venus' siren-women. The new footage with Bogdonavich's voice-over to provide a sense of narrative was packaged for American International Pictures. Though credited as Director (using a pseudonym), Bogdanovich only directed approximately ten minutes of the film (the beach and siren scenes) over the course of five days.

Plot[]

Astronauts arrive on the planet Venus and encounter ferocious dinosaur-like beasts. These creatures are worshiped by the all-female natives of Venus, and the astronauts must appease them and escape.

  • Producer Roger Corman had previously used parts of Planeta Bur in his 1965 film Voyage to the Prehistoric Planet.
  • This is the only film acting credit for many of the "prehistoric women".
  • Despite their similar titles, there is no connection between this film and Women of the Prehistoric Planet.
