W. Lee Wilder (1904-1982) was born in Austria-Hungary. In the 1940s, he began working as a film director, writer, and producer. He was the older brother of acclaimed filmmaker Billy Wilder.
W. Lee Wilder often worked with his son Myles Wilder, who was a screenwriter.
