Actor Zack Norman co-wrote the film under the pseudonym Howard Zuker. The riff is phrased slightly differently than the ad, which reads "Zack Norman AS Sammy in 'Chief Zabu'."
The film was shot in 1986 but went unreleased until 2016. The advertisement in Variety was an attempt to promote interest in the film and secure a distributor.
